" I slept and dreamt
that life was joy
I woke up and saw
that life was service
I acted and beheld
service was joy "
What greater joy can one experience that giving life to another. The mother brings the child into the world, but the teacher enables the child to rule the world. A teacher is a 'king maker', she is the arbiter of a nation’s destiny. Let it not be by chance, but by choice that you choose to become a teacher. Such is the profundity of the profession.
A teacher not only teaches the science of life, but also the art of living. It
is only a teacher who can make a difference in the life of an individual. All
professionals are the product of a teacher. Hence teaching is called the "mother
of all professions" Rather teaching is a calling. The destiny of a nation
depends primarily on the quality of its teachers. The healing touch, the loving
word, the caring look, the patient hearing, the gentle reprimand are all the
unique qualities of a teacher. "A teacher affects eternity. She cannot tell
where her influence stops" If this is realized by the teacher, a great future
can be created for an entire generation.
With staggering footsteps the toddler enters the portals of a school. His vital formative and impressionable years are spent in the company of his teachers, whom he looks up to with love and innocence in his eyes.
One correction, one advice, one kind word, one warning, one helping hand, one reassurance, one suggestion,
One opportunity, one pat, one appreciation one hug,...... That is all it takes to turn a child’s life. This can be achieved only by God’s chosen one, the “God creates, a teacher re-creates”.
Teachers are the lynchpin of an educational institution. A teacher needs to walk her talk. She should inspire her students with her qualities. You need to “become the change you wish to see in the world”. Hence she has to transcend her limitations, modify her thought process, attitude and responses to be an unparalleled role model whom her students can emulate. “An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching”
Let our life be a message to the younger generation. Good education is one that leads to wholesome development of the mind, body and spirit. It would be one that helps the child to know right from wrong;
make the right choices. It should impart self discipline. When children have a good foundation of values they
have a solid base for the proper use of knowledge.
"A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can after the course of history". The teaching fraternity should relentlessly, and with a firm resolve, work towards making an educational institution not only a "temple of learning", but most importantly a " temple of transformation".
